The lives of the people have become unbearable due to excessive heat waves across the country for the last few days.
Day labourers and low-income people are the worst sufferers of the heat wave.
A moderate heat wave is sweeping over 56 districts excluding the Rangpur division.
Meteorologists forecasted that there is no chance of rain soon in the country.
They said the day temperature might exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
According to the met office, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and it may continue.
It said people won’t get relief now from the ongoing heat wave. They have to wait at least one week more for normal temperature.
The country's maximum temperature was recorded at 39.7 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga while the lowest temperature was recorded at 18.5 degrees Celsius at Tetulia during the last 24 hours.
