A Khulna court on Sunday has sentenced two people for life for murdering a man in Terkhada upazila of the district in 2009, reports UNB.
The convicted men are Roman Fakir and Milu Mollah of the same district.
Khulna additional district and session judge 1 Md Amirul Islam delivered the judgment in absence of the convicts.
The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each, in default, to suffer 2 years more in jail.
According to the case details, Milu Mollah summoned Sabuj of the same village on November 5, 2009 suspecting that he had affairs with his wife and then strangled him to death in a planned way.
Later, his mother filed a murder case at Terkhada police station.
Another convict, Roman Fakir, confessed to his involvement in the murder and then police recovered the deceased’s skeleton in 2011.
A charge sheet was submitted to the court by investigating officer of the case SI Babar Ali Khan of Patla Police Camp in Terkhada Upazila against four accused on January 15, 2012. Twenty two witnesses gave statement in court throughout the trial.
