Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute (BEHRI) has offered discount on specific test and free screening on the occasion of the World Glaucoma Week.
As part of the week-long programme, the patients will get free screening for eye diseases and 25 percent discount on glaucoma test from March 12 to 18, reports The Daily Sun.
The announcement was made after a procession at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Sunday, marking the glaucoma week.
BEHRI physicians Prof Dr SM Monowarul Islam, Dr Moutushi Islam, Dr Mozumder Golam Rabbi, Dr Rubina Akther, Dr Zarin Parvin and Dr Tasruba Shahnaz and manager Mohammad Ahsan Habib, among other staff of the hospital, were present on the occasion.
Dr Monowarul Islam said the eye screening is important for keeping the vision active as glaucoma is a disease without any symptom.
“Patients couldn’t observe that vision of eye reduces gradually. Many people ignore the issue in the beginning. Only screening can identify the disease,” he said.
BEHRI manager Ahsan Habib said the hospital has initiated the campaign to raise awareness as glaucoma disease causes blindness finally.
