Members of parliament (MPs) of BNP are set to resign from the parliament on Sunday.
As part of pressing home the party’s 10-points demands which include an election-time interim government, they will resign from the parliament.
BNP's organizing secretary and acting office secretary Syed Emran Saleh Prince has confirmed the matter to media.
The BNP MPs will tender their resignation letters to Speaker of the Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at 11am on Sunday.
Seven lawmakers of BNP are Md Aminul Islam from Capainawabganj-2, Md Harunur Rashid from Capainawabganj-3, Abdus Sattar from Brahmanbaria-2, Md Mosharrof Hossain from Bogura-4, Golam Mohammad Siraj from Bogura-6 and Zahidur Rahman from Thakurgaon-3 and Barrister Rumeen Farhana from women reserved seats.
Earlier, the party came up with the announcement of resignation at Dhaka divisional rally at Golapbagh in the capital on Saturday.
