Seven BNP lawmakers have announced their resignation from the Parliament at the Dhaka rally on Saturday.
The MPs are -- Zahidur Rahman (Thakurgaon-3), Gulam Mohammad Siraj (Bogura-6), Aminul Islam (Chapainawabganj-2), Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan (Brahmanbaria-2), Barrister Rumeen Farhana (Reserved seat), Mosharof Hosen (Bogura-4), and Harunur Rashid (Chapainawabganj-3).
BNP’s much-talked Dhaka rally has begun with the participation of tens of thousands of leaders and activists of the party at Golapbagh playground near Sayedabad in the capital.
Dhaka south and north city units of BNP arranged the rally demanding the non-partisan caretaker government and the release of the party’s chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
BNP standing committee member Dr Khandoker Mosharraf Hossain will address the rally as the chief guest while Dhaka city north BNP convener Amanullah Aman is presiding over the protest rally.
BNP activists and supporters have gathered on streets surrounding the Golapbagh playground as the field has already filled with party leaders and activists before starting their rally on Saturday.
Leaders and activists from across the country gathered at the Golapbagh playground since Friday evening after the announcement of the new place for the rally.
BNP men joined the rally with the small procession and chanting the anti-government slogan.
The rally started in the absence of some top BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
According to the party sources, 10-point demand to be announced at the rally.
