BNP activists and supporters have gathered on streets surrounding the Golapbagh playground as the field has already filled with party leaders and activists before starting their rally on Saturday.
Leaders and activists from across the country gathered at the Golapbagh playground since Friday evening after the announcement of the new place for the rally.
BNP men are joining the rally with the small procession and chanting the anti-government slogan.
Golalbagh-Dhalpur and Sayedabad roads have already been blocked by the BNP men.
The rally is scheduled to be started in the afternoon in the absence of some top BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
BNP got permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold its much-talked rally scheduled to be held on Saturday (December 10) at Golapbagh playground.
BNP vice-chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain revealed the information while briefing reporters in front of the DMP office on Friday.
Earlier in the day, detective police detained Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas early Friday.
On Wednesday afternoon, police detained BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Dhaka city north BNP convener Amanullah Aman, BNP’s publicity secretary and media cell member Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and Swecchasebak Dal general secretary Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Juel from Naya Paltan.
