BNP got permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold its much-talked rally scheduled to be held on Saturday (December 10) at Golapbagh playground in the old Dhaka.
BNP vice-chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain revealed the information while briefing reporters in front of the DMP office on Friday.
Earlier, a two-member BNP delegation consisting of AZM Zahid Hossain and law affairs secretary Kayser Kamal went to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) office to try to end the impasse over the party's December 10 rally in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, an emergency meeting of the BNP was held following the detention of the party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas by the law enforcement agencies.
The meeting started at 11: 20 am on Friday and ended at 12 pm.
BNP acting chairperson Tareque Rahman presided over the meeting connecting through the virtual platform.
Detective police detained Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas early Friday.
