State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid said the Awami League government is working to attain international recognition by identifying the mass grave across the country during the country’s Liberation War.
He made the remarks while inaugurating an international conference on ‘Genocide in Bangladesh, Impacts and Justice’ at Khulna Shilpakala Academy on Friday.
Genocide and Torture Archive and Museum Trust Chairperson Professor Muntasir Mamun presided over the meeting while Professor Md Mahbubur Rahman and India’s Jawaharlal Nehru University Professor Sanjay K Bhardwaj, among others, spoke at the function.
The State Minister for Cultural Affairs said the highest genocide in history occurred in Chuknagar of Khulna. The new generation can know the mass killing through the implementation of the genocide museum in Khulna.
There will be no need for financial assistance to the museum for its self-dependent system, he added.
Professor Muntasir Mamun said international recognition is needed for genocide and work should be started from this country.
