Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Thursday said re-voting at 125 centres of the by-elections of Gaibandha-5 will be held in due time.
The date of the elections will be announced next week, he said.
Kazi Habibul Awal made the remarks during a briefing at his office after completing a review of the investigation report of Gaibandha-5 by-polls which the commission suspended due to anomalies.
Meanwhile, the election commission recommended bringing 134 officials including an additional deputy commissioner under book for their negligence in duty during the Gaibandha-5 by-election.
On October 12 this year, the Gaibandha-5 by-election was suspended amid allegations of “malpractices”.
