Metro rail to be launched end of Dec: DMTCL

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director M A N Siddique said the metro rail will be inaugurated at the end of December next.

He revealed the information while briefing journalists after an agreement signing ceremony for land development of the metro rail (MRT Line-1) depot area on Wednesday.

“We have sent the summary to the Road Transport and Highways Division seeking a time for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to open the much-awaited metro rail in the last week of December.  Cabinet Division has asked us to take necessary preparations considering that time,” Siddique said.

DMTCL formally is implementing the project named MRT Line-6.
