Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is entering the field with the message of voting with a little more than a year left for the 12th National Parliament elections as her election rally will start from Jessore on next Thursday.
Then on December 4 and 7, he will address party rallies in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar. Preparations for the commemoration of these three public gatherings are underway at the local level.
Prime Minister's Office and Awami League high-level sources said the prime minister could not directly participate in any party activities in the country due to corona pandemic for a long time. Jessore rally will be her first public program outside Dhaka after pandemic. Through this, she is going to start party activities nationwide.
She will address the rally organized by district Awami League at Shamsul Huda Stadium in Jessore city on Thursday.
Then on December 4 at Chattogram polo ground and on December 7, the chief guest will address the party's rally at the Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar.
In these programs, the plaques of various development projects will be unveiled and foundation stones will be laid. Apart from this, she will present to the people the developments that the Awami League government has made in the country for the past 14 consecutive years. At the same time, she will also remind the people of the situation before coming to power.
Awami League presidium member Abdur Rahman told Bangladesh Pratidin, “PM was not able to go near the people for a long time due to the corona virus pandemic. She will now start public meetings in different places as the outbreak of corona has reduced.”
“The date of rally in three districts has already been finalized. Apart from highlighting the development activities of the government in these rallies, the people will also be reminded of the situation of the country during the BNP-Jamaat period,” he added.
According to several sources of the party, in the last meeting of the Awami League executive parliament, the party president Sheikh Hasina said that she will now go to the field level to strengthen the organization. The program will be organized with priority to those districts which she could not go to the districts due to being in power for 14 consecutive years.
Another presidium member of the party is Jahangir Kabir Nanak said, “Leaders and workers of all levels of the party want to see Sheikh Hasina closely. Seek guidance from Her face. Twelfth National Assembly election ahead, she will go to the people with the election message. How much the situation of the country has improved in the last three terms, he will highlight in front of the people. At the same time, he will tell the countrymen what he will do if he comes to power in the future.”
Jessore will be a sea of people:
According to local sources, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman addressed a rally at Jessore Stadium on December 26, 1972. That public meeting turned into a mass of people. After 50 years at the same stadium, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address a rally on Thursday.
District Awami League is making extensive preparations to make her rally a success. Every unit of of the party and affiliated organizations is working to ensure the presence of 10 lakh people in this rally.
Chittagong and Cox's Bazar will be a sea of people:
On December 4 and 7, he will address party rallies in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar. Central leaders in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar are working day and night to make this meeting a success.
In Chattogram, a target of 10 lakh people gathering outside the field including 4 lakh leaders and workers has been set. 300 micrs will be installed so that they can listen to the Prime Minister's speech. A 7 feet high stage will be constructed at the polo ground.
A target of 500,000 people has been set at the Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium December 7. Already, the district Awami League has held several meetings to make the Prime Minister's rally a success.
