BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said their party will reply to the killing of Munshiganj Jubo Dal activist Shahidul Islam Shaon by ousting the government, reports UNB.
“The blood of Shaon has encouraged us to take a fresh oath that we’ll give a reply to his sacrifice of life by ensuring the fall of the current fascist authoritarian regime at any cost,” he said.
In a brief address prior to Shaon’s namaz-e-janaza in front of BNP’s Nayaplatan central office, Fakhrul said the Jubo Dal activist sacrificed his life for the restoration of democracy and people’s voting and other rights.
“So, we’re taking a vow that we, the people of Bangladesh, will establish a pro-people government by removing the current despotic regime through united efforts. We will be able to show proper respect for Shaon if we can do that,” he said
The BNP leader prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of Shaon and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family members.
