Sirajganj BNP secretary among 5 held in city

Police arrested Sirajganj BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bacchu and four other leaders of the party from the capital’s Adabar Ring Road area on Friday night.

Four other arrestees are Sirajganj BNP Vice-President Amar Krishna Das, Vice-President Shamim Khan, Organising Secretary Abu Saeed Sweet, and Kazipur upazila BNP Joint Convener Rashed Kabir Chandu.

Sumon Kumar Saha, inspector of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station said, the arrestees were brought to Sirajganj from Dhaka at night.

They were sent to jail as the court denied their bail on Saturday morning, he added.
