Mongla Port Authority Deputy Director (Public Relations) Md. Makruzzaman mentioned that a one-stop service is being offered in the jetty area to streamline operation. By initiating this service, all departments directly involved in operational activities have been brought under one room. This reduced the need for users to move between different departments.
He noted that users can now access all services in one place.
With improved navigational facilities, ships with a draft of up to 8 meters can easily dock at the port. On average, 400 ships are handled which facilitates the import and export of 3 million tonnes of goods, he added.
