DSE Brokers Association President Saiful Islam has emphasized on disclosure of frauds in capital market that has taken place during the Awami League’s tenure.
He on Thursday made the statement at a press conference on the current situation of capital market and future actions to curb its trading at a hotel in the capital. The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) organized the press conference.
He said: “Everyone is talking about fraud in many sectors in the last 15 years except the fraud in the capital market.” He demanded disclosure, saying that they are not asking to bring them to justice; they just want to know the real scenario.
“We need a record of what irregularities have occurred in the capital market. We want to know, if there is one, everyone will be alert about irregularities,” he furthered.
He also said: “The tax authority will sit with us before the budget.” He expressed hope that we will get tax benefits through discussions.
