All types of bank transactions are closed to mark the bank holiday today.
Bank holiday is observed on December 31 every year. On this day the accounts sent from different branches of banks are consolidated and the annual financial report is prepared. That is why this day is considered a “bank holiday”, reports UNB.
Stock market transactions are also closed on this day. However, the head offices and important branches of all commercial banks, including Bangladesh Bank (BB), will stay open.
Banks and the capital market will be open as usual on Wednesday. The Bangladesh Bank will also operate on the same schedule.
