Jewellers have lowered the price of gold by Tk1,260 to Tk1,37,448 per bhori (11.664 grams) in the local market amid a tariff drop on ‘pure gold’.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Saturday.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk11,784 per gram, while it is Tk11,248 for 21-carat gold, read a press release signed by the committee chairman, Masudur Rahman.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk9,641 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk7,912 a gram.
The new tariff will come into effect on Sunday (today), the release added.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, while Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
