UNHCR High Commissioner Filippo Grandi will arrive in Dhaka today (February 27) for a three-day tour.
During the tour, the UN refugee agency chief will meet Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, and his high representative Khalilur Rahman.
He is scheduled to visit the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char. According to former diplomats, addressing the Rohingya issue is expected to be a central focus of this visit.
Previously, Filippo Grandi made several visits to Bangladesh in the aftermath of the massacre of Rohingyas in Rakhine, Myanmar, in August 2017.
