An 11-year-old girl who went missing from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area on Sunday has been rescued from Naogaon district, law enforcement officials said on Tuesday.
A team from the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) recovered the girl, identified as Arabi Islam Subah, from the Madhyapara area of Naogaon district town, according to Nure Alam Siddique, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB-5 conducted a raid at the residence of Mumin. During the operation, RAB arrested Mumin’s father.
Following interrogation, Mumin’s father admitted that Subah was at their house. RAB later took both Subah and Mumin into custody and handed them over to the Joypurhat RAB-5 camp for further questioning.
Initial investigations suggest that Subah and Mumin became acquainted through TikTok, though authorities say further details will emerge after interrogation.
Subah had gone missing from the Mohammadpur area on Sunday, prompting her family to file a general diary with the police on Monday.
