Abdur Razzaq Fahim was arrested early Tuesday morning for assaulting three police officers, including the officer-in-charge (OC), at Pallabi Police Station, reports UNB.
The incident took place around 12:30 am when Fahim arrived at the station, claiming a murder had occurred. OC Nazrul Islam clarified that no murder had taken place and explained a stabbing incident was being treated at a hospital. Fahim, appearing agitated, accused the officers of hiding the truth and refused to provide his identity.
When OC Nazrul attempted to escort him to his office, Fahim physically attacked, punching and kicking the officers. ASI Md Nasir sustained a broken finger, while SI Shariful Islam was struck on the forehead. Fahim was subdued and arrested.
Fahim later revealed that he had traveled from Gazipur with three others in a car displaying a news channel's sticker. All four were arrested, and a case was filed. The injured officers were treated at Kurmitola Hospital.
