The leaders and activists of Sirajganj district BNP and its affiliated organizations have taken an oath not to be involved in extortion, encroachment and corruption.
At the end of the joint meeting of Sirajganj district BNP at the Bhashani auditorium of the city on Thursday afternoon, Sirajganj district BNP general secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu raised the hands of the leaders and activists and recited this oath.
In the oath, he said, “With trust in Almighty Allah, I say that we have suffered for 17 years. For a fair and free election, we will not engage in any extortion, occupation, looting or violent acts from today. We will not be involved in all these wrongdoings until there is a fair and decent election in Bangladesh, holding the ideals of Shaheed Zia in our hearts. May Allah fulfill this desire of our hearts. We are taking this oath today for the sake of Allah and we will cooperate with all the measures taken by the administration to make this society free from corruption and to implement the said system - Insha Allah. May everyone be well.”
Earlier, District BNP President and former MP Rumana Mahmud presided over the joint meeting and told the leaders and activists that many BNP leaders and activists have participated in the occupation after August 5. We must stop all these activities temporarily and focus on the elections. Besides, no one will do committee business. All committees should keep people who have sacrificed and love the party. If we give place to people who have sacrificed and love the party in every committee, Zia's state will be formed.
