The country’s largest single-roof exhibition tent, Expo Village, officially began its journey on Thursday, hosting the Bangladesh Buildcon International Expo at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
This fully air-conditioned, multipurpose venue adds an impressive 1.34 lakh square feet of space to ICCB, reinforcing its status as the nation’s premier destination for large-scale events. Capable of accommodating over 10,000 attendees under one roof, Expo Village offers state-of-the-art amenities, including parking for more than 1,000 cars, reliable transport options, round-the-clock CCTV surveillance, and stringent security measures.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by ICCB Chief Operating Officer MM Jasim Uddin, ASK Trade Show Managing Director Bhuiyan Tipu Sultan, and Mohammad Abu Sadeque, Executive Director of the Centre for Housing and Building Research (HBRC). ICCB Head of Accounts and Finance Monirul Islam Palash and Kazi Rokon Uddin, AGM of Brand and Marketing at the Bashundhara Group Director’s Secretariat, were also present.
During his speech, MM Jasim Uddin highlighted ICCB’s decade of success, noting that 44 expos have already been scheduled for 2025. “ICCB initially focused on weddings, seminars, and symposiums. Over time, it evolved into a signature venue for grand expositions and large-scale events,” he said. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Vice-Chairman Shafiat Sobhan for their support in developing this landmark base.
Expo Village is designed to host a wide variety of events, ranging from intimate social gatherings to major international exhibitions. Its debut event, the Bangladesh Buildcon International Expo, is an international exhibition series showcasing innovations in building and construction, woodworking, and electrical products. The expo is co-organized by ASK Trade and Exhibitions and Futurex Trade Fair and marks the 8th edition of the event.
