The Bomb Disposal Unit of Bangladesh Police has conducted a thorough examination of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight that landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Rome following a bomb threat. However, no bomb or bomb-like object was found on the plane.
This information was confirmed by sources at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
According to reports, after receiving the bomb threat targeting the flight, the entire aircraft was searched thoroughly. All passengers' baggage was also checked, but no explosives or suspicious items were found.
Group Captain Kamrul Islam, the executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, stated, “The search is nearly complete. Further details regarding the threat and the search operation will be disclosed to the media.”
Earlier, the flight from Rome to Dhaka, operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, received a bomb threat via a phone call to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from an unidentified number.
Following the threat, Flight BG-356 landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:20 am. The aircraft was carrying 250 passengers and 13 crew members.
After landing, the plane was cordoned off by law enforcement forces to ensure security.
