East West University (EWU) awarded the Merit Scholarship to 219 students from the Summer and Fall 2024 semesters in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements. A significant majority of the scholarship recipients were female. The ceremony was held on Sunday, at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium at EWU’s campus in Aftabnagar, Dhaka.
The event featured Mr. Farooque B. Chaudhury, Member of the Board of Trustees, EWU, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of EWU, presided over the ceremony as the Program Chair.
In his address, Mr. Chaudhury congratulated the scholarship recipients and underscored the value of academic excellence and dedication. He expressed pride in their achievements and encouraged them to continue striving for success in their future endeavors.
Professor Dr. Shams Rahman highlighted EWU’s commitment to creating a supportive and enriching academic environment. He commended the students for their hard work and perseverance, with special recognition of the notable number of female recipients. He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to promoting gender equality in education.
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Prof. Dr. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro Vice-Chancellor, as well as Deans, faculty members, officers of EWU, scholarship recipients, and their guardians.
