A major fire broke out at Building 7 of the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital’s Segunbagicha area early Thursday.
The blaze was reported at 1:52 am, with fire fighters arriving two minutes later, according to the information sent by the Fire Service and Civil Defense control room.
Members of the army, police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) have also been deployed to assist the fire fighters.
Fire Service official Rafi Al Faruq said that the cause remains unknown, and containment efforts are ongoing.
A total of 19 firefighting units are working to douse the fire till 6:00 am.
