India, as marked as the favorite to win the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025, won it in style by defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets.
In the match held at Dubai of UAE on Sunday, they won the final comfortably with their combined team-effort.
Winning the toss, New Zealand decided to bat first. However, due to the tight bowling of Indian bowlers, New Zealand lost first 4 wickets in just 108 runs. Daryl Mitchel and Glenn Philips tried to show some resistance, but couldn’t make their innings long.
New Zealand managed to score 251 runs for 7 thanks to 53 runs from Michael Bracewell from 40 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakroborty took 2 wickets each with their tight spin bowling.
In reply, India got a very good start with Rohit Sharma’s 76 runs from 83 balls. Sheyas Iyer continued his good form by scoring 48 runs from 62 balls.
KL Rahul made 34 to take India to the port of victory with one over to spare.
Michael Santner and Michael Bracewell took 2 wickets each for New Zealand.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma was judged player of the match for final.
