A minor boy was killed after being hit by a bus on the Lakshmipur-Dhaka highway in the Joksin Bazar area of Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon, reports BSS.

The deceased, Ahnaf Hossain(7) was the son of Shafiqul Alam and a resident of Jadaiya area in Sadar upazila.

The accident occurred around 2:30 PM when a Jonaki Paribahan bus, traveling from Lakshmipur, struck Ahnaf as he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Nur Mohammad of Chandraganj Highway Police Station.

Police recovered the body and handed it over to the family members.

The bus was seized, but its driver and helper fled the scene.

Legal action is currently underway, the SI added.
