A teenager named Shahdat Hossain Akbar Shanto (17) was stabbed to death near Hazaribagh Park in the capital.
The incident occurred on Thursday night (November 14) around 11:30 PM, in front of Giyas Uddin's house on the madrasa lane beside Hazaribagh Park.
Shanto, who had been receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, was pronounced dead around 11 AM on Friday.
He had been living with his family in Hazaribagh 10 No. Lane. His father's name is Afzal Hossain, according to police confirmation.
Shanto's friend, Jibon Ahmed, stated that Shanto was not engaged in any specific occupation.
On Thursday night, a group of individuals attacked him with a knife in the madrasa lane near his home.
Upon hearing the news, Shanto was immediately rushed to the hospital. The perpetrators are believed to be from a nearby area.
Miraj Hossain, the elder brother of the deceased, said that a group of individuals, including a teenager named Shukur, were attempting to steal a bicycle from a house in the area when the janitor apprehended them. Upon hearing this, Shanto went to the scene to find out what was happening. Shukur then stabbed Shanto on the left side of his chest.
The in-charge of the Dhaka Medical Police Camp, Mohammad Faruk, confirmed the death.
He stated that the body has been kept in the morgue, and the local police station is investigating the incident.
