Four people including two siblings died and three others were injured in a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Paishka Bypass area at Nakla upazila of Sherpur on Wednesday, reports UNB.
Nakla Police Station Officer-in-Charge Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter.
The deceased were identified as Subina Begum (20), wife of Raju Mia of Kaziyakanda village of Phulpur upazila in Mymensingh, her younger brother Tajen Mia (15), son of Sultan Mia of Palashia village of Sherpur, Tayera Begum (10), daughter of Tofazzal Hossain of Laudana village of Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona and Alauddin (40), son of Abul Kashem of Sahapur village in Phulpur.
The injured are Umme Salma (40), her daughter Tora Begum (16) and Chabid (3), son of Abul Kashem of Sahapur village in Phulpur. They have been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment.
“Around 12 pm, a pickup van and a CNG-run autorickshaw collided at Paiska Bypass intersection. Tayera and Tazen died on the spot,” said the OC.
Another injured named Subina died on the way to the hospital, he added.
