Google has announced a couple of new features for one of its popular apps 'Google Maps'. On Thursday, October 3, during an event in India, Google revealed that users will now be able to check if a specific location has fog or floodwater through Google Maps. Not only that, users can also report fog and flood information in their area directly to Google if they want.
It was also mentioned at the event that Google Maps users will also be able to access real-time weather updates. So any user can be informed in advance about fog-covered roads or flood conditions in certain areas via Google Maps. Fog and flood-related alerts will mostly be based on information and feedback provided by users. As a result, these new features will help people during the monsoon and winter seasons while traveling.
Google Maps has also integrated artificial intelligence (AI) technology to summarize any kind of review. This will allow users to quickly get an overview of multiple reviews about restaurants, hotels, or various locations on Google Maps, without the need to read each one individually. Additionally, drivers will now be able to view directions for narrow roads with the help of Artificial Intelligence.
