Liton Das has been dropped from Bangladesh’s Champions Trophy squad due to his prolonged off-form. However, despite being left out of the national team, the hard-hitting batsman is not sitting idle. After taking a short break following the BPL, he joined the ‘Bangladesh Tigers Camp’. The camp has begun today(Sunday) at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
The upcoming season of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League is set to start in the first week of March. According to Shahriar Nafees, the Cricket Operations Manager of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the Bangladesh Tigers' camp will continue until the teams begin their preparations for the league. Players who missed out on the Champions Trophy squad are also participating in this camp.
The camp is being conducted by local coaches, with Sohel Islam overseeing the sessions. Initially, the focus will be on fitness training, followed by skill-based practice. Regarding the 10-12 day training camp, Nafees mentioned that this period would help the players stay in practice before the league begins. Once the league starts, they will train with their respective teams.
