Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday unveiled a commemorative postage stamp, an inaugural envelope and a seal on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, reports UNB.
Information and Broadcasting Posts and Telecommunications Adviser Md Nahid Islam, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Dr Muhammad Mushfiqur Rahman and Director General (Additional Duty) of the Directorate of Posts SM Sahabuddin were present at the ceremony at the Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon.
International Mother Language Day was proclaimed by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in November 1999.
The idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. The UN General Assembly welcomed the proclamation of the day in its resolution of 2002.
Chief Adviser Dr Yunus also released a commemorative postage stamp, an inaugural envelope and a seal celebrating the 7th National COMDECA 2025 (Community Development Camp) at the same time.
