Four films titled “Dost Dushman”, “Ammajan”, “Boli” and “Priyo Maloti” to be screened at the “Student Teacher Centre” (TSC) auditorium of Dhaka University on Wednesday.
The movies will be shown at 10:00am, 1:00pm, 3:30pm and 6:30pm respectively.
The film “Dost Dushman” was released in theatres in 1977. Sohel Rana, Wasim, Jashim and Shabana played lead roles in the Dewan Nazrul-directed film.
“Ammajan” crime-drama film directed by Kazi Hayat and written by Monwar Hossain Dipjol. The film was released in 1999 in Bangladesh. It was produced by Dipjol. The film stars Manna, Shabnam, Moushumi, Amin Khan, and Dipjol in lead roles.
The film “Boli, The Wrestler”, has garnered global attention, winning the prestigious New Currents Award at the 2023 Busan International Film Festival. Directed by Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, the film highlights the rich tradition of wrestling in Chittagong and showcases the coastal myths of Bangladesh to the world.
The film stars an ensemble cast including Nasir Uddin Khan, AKM Itmam, Priyam, Angel Nur, Tahadil Ahmed, Prangan Shuvo, and Tanveer Ahmed.
Popular small screen actor Mehazabien Chowdhury-starrer film “Priyo Maloti” was released in theatres on 20 December.
Mehazabien has played the title role in the film. The other cast of the award-winning film includes Nader Chowdhury, Azad Abul Kalam, Shahjahan Samrat and Rizvi Riju.
