Liton Kumer Das said that he was not trying to prove anything to anyone.

He made the announcement after scoring his maiden BPL century, leading Dhaka Capitals to a dominant 149-run victory over Durbar Rajshahi at Sylhet on Sunday, ending their six-match winless streak.

Liton smashed an unbeaten 55-ball 125 laced with 10 fours and 9 sixes.

“No brother, there is nothing to prove to anyone,” Liton told reporters after the game when he was asked whether he was trying to prove anything.

"At the back of my mind, I'm always thinking about how I can improve my cricket," he said. "I felt like I wasn't having a good time with the game recently. While I can't guarantee the same performance in the next match, I will strive to be consistent."

“It’s difficult to say and I have answered them (selectors) and now the call is on the hand of the selectors. They are thinking now I am not fitting in the team and that is the reason I am not in the team,” he said.

“If they feel I am fit enough they might give me the chance to make a comeback but they are the one to make the call. I am focusing on BPL and thinking how I can do well,” he said adding that everyone knows the reason.

“Yes clear message was given (why I am dropped) but that is not through the selectors. Why I was left out you can get that in the media. If you see why I am dropped because I was not performing and you did the news and it is open and there is nothing to hide and that is the basic,” he said.

“As far as Champions Trophy is concerned I don’t have it in my hand as the call is made by the selectors. They make the call who will play and who won’t. My job is to perform and I could not do it till now and I was upset for that and was thinking how to deliver in a match,” he said.

“I carry the same mindset before and after the match. I always say what happened today is a past and I might have played a good innings today but will have to start from the scratch tomorrow. At the back of the mind I know that I have to construct my inning from the beginning. I will work hard and let’s see what happens,” he added.
