Six Bangladeshi expatriate Scout Leaders participated in the 26th Australian National Scout Jamboree, held in Brisbane, Australia, from January 6 to 15. The event brought together Scout delegations from 33 countries, showcasing a spirit of unity and global collaboration.
The Bangladesh Scouter delegation was led by Md. Alauddin Alok (Wood badger), a member of the Bangladesh Scouts Foundation and renowned bicycle world traveler. The other team members included Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khan ALT, Sardar Mohammad Khaled PS PRS, Md. Delwar Hossain (wood badger), Abdul Karim Bhuiyan (former senior rover mate of Government Titumir College), and Mohammad Kamruzzaman Bappi, all of whom are active contributors to the scouting movement.
Md. Alauddin Alok stressed that the World Scout Organization, comprising 174 countries, encourages global brotherhood among Scouts. He described the Jamboree as a unique platform for exchanging ideas and strengthening international ties. “Participating in this event allowed us to showcase the rich history, traditions, and culture of Bangladesh to the world,” he said.
The Bangladeshi delegation's participation highlighted the country’s commitment to the global scouting community and its dedication to fostering youth development and international cooperation.
