Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has been banned from bowling in international cricket. However, he will be able to continue playing as a batter.
Shakib has failed the bowling action test again. As a result, the ban imposed on him has been upheld.
Shakib Al Hasan's bowling ban remains in effect due to an illegal bowling action. The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the matter in a press release.
Shakib's bowling action, which was reported by the umpires while playing for Surrey in county cricket, was reported as faulty. As a result, the England and Wales Cricket Board declared Shakib's bowling action illegal after an independent observation at the Loughborough University laboratory in England. As a result of this announcement, Shakib lost his eligibility to bowl in cricket competitions organized and sanctioned by ICC member countries.
Last month, another observation of Shakib's bowling action was completed at the Sri Ramachandra Centre for Sports Science in Chennai, India. Here too, faults were found in Shakib's bowling action. As a result, Shakib lost his bowling eligibility. As a result, the ECB's ban remains in effect.
Shakib will not be able to take part in any other tests for the next one year after failing two consecutive tests. After this time, he will have to pass the test again and be successful. Only then will he be able to bowl again. However, there is no obstacle for him to play as a batter in any domestic or international format, BCB said.
