Bangladesh scored a challenging total of 321 for five in the third and final match of the ODI series against the West Indies. But West Indies chased the target down very easily and won the match by four wickets with 24 balls to spare.
With this win, the Caribbeans whitewashed Bangladesh 3-0 by debutant Amir Jangoo hit century and Keacy Carty scored 95 runs.
Caribbean captain Shai Hope won the toss and sent the Tigers into bat on Thursday at Warner Park in Basseterre in St. Kitts. Bangladesh scored 321 for five in the allotted 50 overs with fifties from Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahmudullah Riad and Zaker Ali. Soumya scored 73 off 73 balls, Miraj scored 77 off 73, Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 84 off 63 balls and Zaker 62 off 57 balls. Alzhari Joseph took 2 wickets for the West Indies.
Batting at a target of 322, West Indies lost their first wicket for 19 runs. Brandon King returned to the dressing room after being run out for 15 runs off 10 balls. The Caribbeans quickly lost a pair of wickets. Nasum Ahmed bowled Alick Athanase to give Bangladesh their second success. He was out for 7 runs off 8 balls. Then, pacer Hasan Mahmud dismissed Shai Hope, who had made just 3 runs off 6 balls.
After Hope's departure, Keacy Carty along with Sherfan Rutherford repaired the initial damage. The two batsmen put on a 55-run partnership. However, Rutherford was out for 30 runs off 33 balls when the team's at 86 runs. Then, Carty kept the run wheel moving along with the debutant Amir Jangoo. The two batsmen scored fifty in their fluent batting. They put on a 132-run partnership. Carty was out 5 runs short of a century. He scored 95 runs off 88 balls.
Then, Rishad Hossain quickly gave Bangladesh hope by dismissing Roston Chase. However, Jangoo continued to score runs along with Gudakesh Moti. This batsman scored a century in 79 balls on his debut match with an aggressive batting. West Indies won by relying on their batting and leaving 24 balls in hand. Jangoo remained unbeaten on 104 off 83 balls and Gudakesh on 44 off 31 balls. Rishad took 2 wickets for Bangladesh.
