The Bangladesh women’s cricket team is set for a packed international schedule after the ICC Women’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the 2025-29 cycle was announced on Monday.
Over the next five years, Bangladesh is scheduled to play 33 ODIs and 36 T20Is, competing against leading cricketing nations worldwide. The schedule is further highlighted by several major ICC tournaments.
Most significantly, Bangladesh’s away tours during this period include maiden visits to cricketing powerhouses, such as India, Australia, England, and New Zealand.
All the series of the FTP will consist of three ODIs and three T20Is, apart from the home series against New Zealand in 2027 which will consist of three T20Is only.
Bangladesh’s FTP cycle begins with a home series against Ireland later this month, where Bangladesh will host Ireland in three ODIs and three T20Is.
The team’s away campaign begins with an early tour to the West Indies in January-February 2025, followed by a high-profile series in India in December 2025.
In October 2026, Bangladesh will tour Australia, and they will face New Zealand in December of the same year.
England, who haven’t hosted Bangladesh men's cricket team since 2020, will host the women’s team in September 2027, and Pakistan will welcome them for a tour from October to November 2028, rounding off their major overseas commitments.
On the home front, Bangladesh will play a series against Sri Lanka in April 2026, followed by a return visit from the West Indies in March 2027.
In May 2027, Bangladesh will host New Zealand for a three-match T20I series, and in November of that year, Zimbabwe will arrive for a bilateral series.
South Africa is also scheduled to tour Bangladesh in April 2028, providing the home crowd with several opportunities to watch the national team in action.
A unique highlight of this FTP cycle is the annual ICC event slated each year, designed to amplify women’s cricket on a global scale. This begins with the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025, which will be held in India.
The 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will take place in the United Kingdom, bringing together the world’s top T20 teams in another thrilling showdown.
The inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, featuring six teams, is scheduled for 2027, while the 2028 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup awaits a final host selection.
