Tabith Awal met with former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia after being elected President of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) with a resounding margin.
The meeting took place on Saturday night at her residence, Firoza, in Gulshan. During the meeting, Begum Zia prayed for Awal's success.
Earlier, after receiving the results of the BFF elections, Tabith Awal informed the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who is currently in the United Kingdom, about his victory via phone.
Party leaders accompanying Tabith Awal stated that he expressed his special gratitude to Tarique Rahman for his overall support during the election.
During the conversation, Tarique Rahman provided special instructions to Tabith Awal to fulfill his duties with integrity.
He was elected President of the BFF after defeating his competitor, grassroots organizer FM Mizanur Rahman from Dinajpur.
Tabith Awal received 123 votes, while Mizanur Rahman received only 5 votes.
Voting was held from 2 PM to 6 PM, with 128 out of 133 eligible voters participating. Five voters were absent.
This has been confirmed by the relevant election commission.
