South Africa became Group 2 leader with their convincing win against India in the match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Sunday.
In the match held at Perth in Australia, winning the toss, India elected to bat first.
India’s top order didn’t manage to score big runs, while Suriyakumar Yadav’s attacking innings of 68 off 40 balls took them to 133 for 9.
South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi grabbed 4 for 29 and Wayne Parnell took 3 for 15 to restrict India to mediocre score.
In reply, springboks also struggled from the beginning as they lost third wicket in 24 runs within 5.4 overs.
However, 4th wicket stand between Aiden Markram and David Miller took them out of danger, as they scored 52 off 41 balls and 59 off 46.
India’s Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets for 25.
For his brilliant bowling South Africa’s Ngidi was judged Player of the Match.
