Bashundhara Shuvosangho members, in cooperation with a youth platform, launched a month-long tree plantation drive in honour of the Freedom Fighters at Baherchar Katla area of Madaripur Sadar Upazila on Wednesday.
A dua mahfil was also hosted on the occasion around 4pm. The participants prayed for the eternal peace of the departed and fallen Freedom Fighters as well as success of the tree-plantation initiative.
Activists from Bashundhara Shuvosangho, and the youth platform “Tarun Projonmo Madaripur” said that the month-long drive is aimed at honouring the valiant Freedom Fighters through environment-friendly and climate-resilient efforts.
In the process, the young generation would feel encouraged to be patriotic, they said.
Freedom Fighters Habibul Haque, and Dr Golam Sarwar joined the dua mahfil. Tarun Projonmo Madaripur Convener Asaduzzaman Saif was also present, among others.
