Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a day-long camp for providing free medical services to poor people at a village near the International University of Business and Technology (IUBAT) in Uttara, Dhaka recently.
At the camp, around 220 poor villagers, including 90 women and 70 children, received free healthcare services like blood pressure checkup, blood sugar level checkup, first aid, distribution of some free medicines, saline distribution, and sanitary napkin distribution for women.
A team of expert doctors from East West Medical Hospital was present at the camp. Private Medical and Dental Association of Barishal provided additional assistance.
The ogranisers said that in the near future they would organise bigger healthcare initiatives in the area. The plan includes: a large-scale medical camp, seminar on women’s health, and development activities for the local community.
Shuvosangho’s IUBAT unit Adviser Md Farhad Hossain said his organisation’s welfare initiatives are truly praiseworthy, setting a bright example for others to replicate.
The unit’s President Dipto Pal said, “Our initiatives can be adjudged successful only when we can bring smiles on people’s faces. We would organise an even bigger free medical camp in the future.”
