Continuing its longstanding commitment to assist the underprivileged, helpless, and specially-abled individuals, Bashundhara Shuvosangho extended support to Abdullah, a physically disabled and orphaned young man in Bagerhat’s Fakirhat Upazila on Saturday.
The organisation provided him with various business supplies to aid his small-scale entrepreneurial efforts.
The distribution ceremony was held at the temporary office of the Fakirhat Upazila unit Shuvosangho. Unit President Animesh Kumar Majumdar handed over the business supplies to Abdullah.
Distinguished social worker Babu Dulal Krishna Raha attended the event as the chief guest, while Khulna district Shuvosangho president Bipul Kanti Chowdhury was present as a special guest. Other attendees included Nur Alam, Abu Bakar Molla, and several local dignitaries.
Chief guest Babu Dulal Krishna Raha said, “Such humanitarian initiatives by Shuvosangho encourage good deeds in society. Their role in alleviating the hardships of the underprivileged in the current socio-economic context is truly commendable.”
An emotional Abdullah expressed his gratitude, saying, “I will never forget Shuvosangho’s assistance. I am deeply thankful for their support.”
Despite being born with a physical disability, Abdullah runs a modest shop, striving to stand on his own feet and support himself without depending on others. In a society where even minor helplessness often drives people to seek assistance, his determination to sustain his livelihood independently is exemplary. Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s provision of business materials is aimed at easing his courageous journey.
As part of its ongoing programmes, Bashundhara Shuvosangho regularly distributes relief, food, and essential supplies to underprivileged, distressed, and specially-abled people across the country, contributing positively to social development.
