Bashundhara Shuvosangho in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Friday distributed winter clothes to street children and distressed people as an early spell of cold weather added to their hardship.
Leaders and volunteers of the organisation toured different areas of Rupganj and handed warm clothes to street children.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Abdul Hannan Milton, coordinator of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Dhaka South. It was organised under the leadership of Rupganj thana unit president Md Ahsanul Haque and general secretary Rimon Rahman.
Yasir, Asif, Arshadul and Apon, along with other volunteers of the organisation, were also present.
The street children expressed joy after receiving the winter clothes, their faces lighting up with satisfaction.
Members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho said the organisation has been contributing to social development, welfare and humanitarian work since its inception.
“During the harsh winter, a warm piece of clothing brings comfort and safety to a person. Even a small gesture can provide great relief to someone in need,” they said.
They added that such initiatives will continue regularly to spread compassion and humane behaviour among people.
