Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed free educational materials among school-going children from ethnic minority communities in Dhamoirhat upazila of Naogaon on Wednesday.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho hosted the distribution event at Taljhari Adivasi Govt Primary School in Dhamoirhat municipality – as part of its efforts to support backward communities.
Each student got one paperboard for writing, one pencil box, one ruler, six pens and other materials at the distribution event.
Anarul Islam Mondol, BNP’s general secretary at Dhomairhat municipality, said every child, irrespective of which community they belong to, has the right to education. Mondol, also the distributor of Bashunhara LP Gas and Basundhara Cement in the upazila, lauded Bashundhara Shuvosangho for continuing welfare activities for marginalised people.
Journalist Harun-al-Rashid, adviser at Shuvosangho’s Dhomairhat upazila unit and Kaler Kantho’s local correspondent, said the educational materials were not only gifts or acts of charity for children; rather, these were part of social responsibility towards students in general.
The items would motivate them into learning, he said.
The children thanked Bashundhara Shuvosangho upon receiving the donations, while teachers of the school noted that these would boost their learning appetite.
