An IT and robotics hands-on workshop along with a reception for international gold medallist innovator Mashia Rahman was held in Netrakona on Wednesday under the initiative of Bashundhara Shuvoangho’s district unit to promote technology-based modern education.
The event, organised at the BNCC classroom of Netrakona Government College, drew significant enthusiasm among students.
Mashia Rahman, who brought honour to Bangladesh by winning a gold medal at the World Innovation Competition 2025, was presented with a crest by Bashundhara Shuvosangho in recognition of her outstanding achievement.
Abdur Rahman, president of Sangho’s Netrakona district unit, handed over the crest.
During her speech, Mashia Rahman shared with BNCC cadets and college students her journey to international success, the challenges she faced and her future plans.
“Innovation is not only about creating something new; it is about finding new ways to solve problems,” she said.
In the workshop conducted by Mashia, students learned the fundamentals of robotics, the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, the importance of innovative thinking and research, emerging technological trends and global market prospects. Her interactive presentation and practical demonstrations inspired students, helping them build confidence for future careers in the tech sector.
Minhaj Hasan Saeed, former district Chhatra Dal leader, attended the event as a special guest.
“Such initiatives are crucial for the country’s young innovators. Workshops like this broaden students’ thinking and prepare them for technological advancement,” he said.
The event was attended by Mahmudah Akter, women and children affairs secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho; Cadet Under Officer Ashraful Alam Tony; ex-cadet officer Sazzadul Islam Sazzad; Cadet Corporal Saila Sharmin Lucky; Cadet Tanzima Tabassum; and BNCC members and students from different departments.
Speakers at the programme expressed pride in Mashia Rahman’s remarkable achievement and hoped her innovative journey would open new doors of possibility.
They added that the workshop, organised by Bashundhara Shuvosangho, was not just an event but a valuable opportunity for young people to prepare for a technology-driven future.
Students said such initiatives, if held regularly, would help them become more skilled, innovative and competitive in the future global tech market.
