Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Thursday arranged a discussion session on the “young people’s role in nation building” at Dhaka College.
Among those present at the event were Bashundhara Shuvosangho Dhaka College branch President Mahmudul Hasan Shovon, General Secretary Md Emdadul Haque, and Organizational Secretary Ashikul Islam Ashik.
In the discussion session, speakers said that the youth are the future of the country and the main force for positive change. Through new ideas, innovative thinking, research and technological skills, they can play an important role in the nation’s progress.
The speakers further stated that in the field of education, the youth can contribute to improving the system by acquiring modern knowledge and skills.
In social change, they can work against poverty, inequality, drug abuse, and environmental pollution.
In politics, the youth can accelerate the country’s development by ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability.
In the national economic landscape, young people can lead through entrepreneurship, startups, and by creating employment opportunities.
In preserving culture and heritage, the active involvement of youth can enhance the nation’s dignity in the international arena.
However, the speakers mentioned that challenges such as lack of education, unemployment, social disorder, and corruption are hindering the progress of the youth. They urged the government, along with educational institutions and social organisations, to increase initiatives to address these issues.
