A serene village draped in shades of green is surrounded by palm and coconut trees, and filled with the sweet smiles of little faces. The morning sun paints the sky gold as the national flag flutters with pride. Beneath it stand a group of bright-eyed children — the young students of Bashundhara Shuvosangho School, their faces glowing with dreams and curiosity.
This is more than just a school — it feels like a family. Here, children learn not only letters and numbers, but also the values of respect, love for the country, and compassion for others. What was once an old rural house now stands as a centre of light and learning. The Shuvosangho banner hangs on the wall, and in the children’s eyes shines the promise of a better tomorrow. The school’s mission is simple yet powerful — to offer free primary education and help children in remote areas grow mentally and morally.
Nila Akter, a teacher of the school, says, “Before this school was established, many local children never went to class. Now, they come every day with excitement. Alongside their lessons, they learn discipline, diligence, and the importance of caring for one another. Each morning begins with the national anthem, and their joy is our greatest reward.”
Asiya Khatun, mother of young Sumaiya, says with pride, “I used to worry about sending my daughter to school — it was too far away. But now we have this wonderful school right in our village. My daughter studies eagerly, sings songs, and recites poems. It means so much that she can study here free of cost.”
