A celebration of joy, creativity, and inspiration unfolded at the historic Eden Mohila College in Dhaka, as the Bashundhara Shuvosangho, Eden College unit, organised a colourful cultural festival on Thursday.
Held on the college premises between regular classes and exams, the festive event offered students a refreshing break from academic monotony while showcasing their diverse talents.
With the theme “Let Culture Be the Light of Inspiration for Creative Development,” the festival featured performances including Quran recitation, poetry recitation, singing, dancing, and acting, allowing members of Shuvosangho to display their artistic skills and creativity.
In the competitive segment of the festival, Tasnuba Tushin, a fourth-year student of the Department of Political Science, won first place.
Sumaiya Suha, a third-year student of Sociology, secured second place, while Nusrat Jahan Tinni, a second-year student of Social Work, earned third place.
All participants received special prizes, adding excitement and encouragement to the occasion.
Participant Sumaiya Akter shared her feelings, saying, “After long classes and exam pressure, I was mentally exhausted. Today’s event helped relieve that stress. Such initiatives boost our confidence, inspire creativity, and motivate us to look at life positively.”
Eden Mohila College Shuvosangho President Faria Haque Tajim said, “Shuvosangho is not just an organisation—it’s a platform for positive change. Cultural events like this inspire young women, nurture leadership qualities, and encourage them to showcase their talents. We plan to organise more such constructive activities to keep students engaged in the future.”
The event was attended by Faria Haque Tajim, Mosammat Shahida Khatun, Jannatul Ferdous, Sanjida Neela, Iffat Sultana, Ritu Yasmin Barni, Umme Mahfuza Tabassum, Taslima, Poly Akter, Runa Akter, Sayma Jannat, Romana Ahmed, Maksura Sarkar Avoni, Chumki Khatun, Saynika Sayon Fariha, Habiba Akter, Noornagar Khatun, Rukaiya Akter, Akhi Moni, and Nafia Tasnim Mishu, among other active members of the unit.
