Members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Dinajpur district and Dinajpur Government College units have conducted a cleanliness and beautification drive near the college campus.
The initiative, held on Thursday, was organised as part of the organisation’s “Cleanliness Drive and Public Awareness Programme.”
Shuvosangho members cleaned a signboard at the College intersection as well as surrounding areas.
After the campaign, Dinajpur district unit Shuvosangho Joint General Secretary Md Yasir Arafat said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho always inspires people to work for positive change in society. The signboard had remained unclean for years. As the entrance to an educational institution, this was quite inappropriate.
“Shuvosangho members worked to restore its condition and beautify the area. Cleanliness, we believe, is not just about personal hygiene, but also the foundation of a clean and civilised society,” he said.
Dinajpur Government College unit Shuvosangho General Secretary Zakir Hossain Rifat expressed his satisfaction over the initiative’s success.
"Keeping our campus surroundings clean is a shared duty. Through this small yet symbolic act, we have committed ourselves to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. As a member of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, we believe that small initiatives can bring about significant changes in society. If our efforts influence even one individual to be more environmentally conscious, we consider it worthwhile," he added.
Dinajpur district unit Shuvosangho Assistant Publicity Secretary Tahasin Warid, Dinajpur Government College unit President Arup Kumar Roy, vice-presidents Shahriar Kabir and Prodipa Rani, Joint General Secretary Asadun Nahar Mukta, Organising Secretary Rokonuzzaman Ridoy, Assistant Organising Secretary Atiqul Islam, and Executive members Sajib Islam and Rishikesh Roy were also present.
